CMI 2016 (Music for Food): Spektral Quartet + Daniel Schlosberg

  • Logan Center Performance Penthouse 915 E 60th St Chicago, IL, 60637 (map)

Can't make it to the Rush Hour Concert on July 12th? You can catch us performing Schumann's ultimate heart-on-the-sleeve score (the Piano Quintet in E-flat major) on the 9th floor of the Logan Center. We'll also be dishing up Sam Pluta's ecstatic binary/momentary logics: flow state/joy state and Katherine Young's colorful reimagining of Arthur Russell's I'm Hiding Your Present From You.

Our theme for the 2016 CMI is "In Response: Music in Dialogue with Culture," so we're making this performance a Music for Food event. What that means is that instead of purchasing a seat, your non-perishable food or monetary donation is your ticket inside. All proceeds will benefit the food pantry run by St. Paul and the Redeemer Church of Hyde Park.

Founded by our 2016 CMI guest artist Kim Kashkashian, Music for Food has provided over 250,000 meals to families in need, and we are delighted to be teaming up with this noble organization for the second time!

Admission: Non-perishable food and/or monetary donation at the door
