Green Lake Festival: Appleton Public Library

  • Appleton Public Library 225 North Oneida Street Appleton, WI, 54911 United States (map)

Get ready to bounce around the centuries and whirl through an array of musical styles for the Spektral Quartet’s library tour this June. Named classical music’s “Chicagoans of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune, Spektral is known for delivering captivating mashups of the traditional and the brand-new in an inviting space for both new and seasoned listeners.

On the menu are movements from Beethoven’s magnificent final composition, the String Quartet in F major Opus 135 (1826), Kotoka Suzuki’s bewitching celebration of Japanese folk music, Minyo (1997), Elliott Carter’s gossamer Fragment No. 1 (1994), Schubert’s famously moody String Quartet in A minor, “Rosamunde,” (1824), and Chicago composer Tomeka Reid’s irresistible Prospective Dwellers (2016).

Listeners of all ages and experiences are enthusiastically welcomed!

This concert is FREE and open to the public
