We are beside ourselves that viola soloist Kim Kashkashian is the guest artist for our third-annual Chamber Music Intensive (titled, In Response: Music in Dialogue with Culture) at the University of Chicago! One of the greatest performers of our time, Ms. Kashkashian will be coaching the resident CMI ensembles, offering a chamber music masterclass, and will conclude her day with a solo performance of works by György Kurtág. The quartet will then join her on stage for a roundtable discussion on the role of the "citizen artist" (Ms. Kashkashian is also the founder of the Music for Food initiative), as well as take questions from the audience.
This performance/discussion is a rare opportunity to interact with an internationally-celebrated artist – one who believes that the role of musician goes far beyond the stage.
This event is FREE and open to the public
