The resident ensembles of the 2016 Chamber Music Intensive present the results of four very...intense...days of rehearsal, coaching, and masterclasses in this final concert. Our theme for 2016 is "In Response: Music in Dialogue with Culture," and each of the selections by Shostakovich, Brahms, Janáček, Cowell, and Haydn interact with politics, society, and/or culture directly and poignantly. This is music that is much more than simply entertainment, and we are eager to hear the hard work of the CMI musicians come to life!
